Web Design - Client : Reclaimed Wood Furniture Website Design

Reclaimed Wood Furniture Website Design

This furniture company needed a website to showcase their work. The photos were fantastic and needed to do all the talking so I made the home page a full bleed image with most of the navigational content hidden until you scroll, that way you get the full impact of the image, much like fashion and lifestyle brand websites do. The floating navigation bar sticks to the top of your browser as you scroll which gives it a dynamic edge and easy of use, allowing the content to be seen with fewer clicks. I wanted to make sure the viewer was taken to the right amount of content at the right time so they weren’t bombarded with too much content, hindering them from finding what they want or frustrating them by not showing them enough. To do this, I’ve used expandable sections where you can read more on that topic. The reclaimed wood textures are better seen in super large images as impact is key.

I created the designed layered photoshop designs and provided them to the developers 3Eleven, who turned them into a fully functioning dynamic, responsive website. We made sure that the CMS (content management system) would allow fully flexible features like adding and removing new projects, pages, as well as press and blog articles. SEO (search engine optimisation) has been considered with the development too with SEO plug in ‘Yoast’ built into the WordPress platform, to make sure the content is fully optimized for Google searches. We also created a press section so they could link all their press articles to the relevant publishers, increasing their SEO and adding content that promoted the reclaimed wood and the beautiful Brandler designs.
